Included on this list are fiction titles, nonfiction titles, and comics which may themselves be fiction or nonfiction. Your favorite might not make the list. That author you love who always writes on feminist topics might not be included.
That’s okay.
This list is about being inclusive, being broad, and exposing budding and experienced feminists to the edges of feminism that can often go overlooked. In some cases, these books challenge traditional notions of feminism and/or might require reflection from the reader as to why it’s feminist or how to better think about certain issues as feminist and respond accordingly.
Grab your to-be-read list. Open up your library holds list. Pop open an online shopping cart. These books will be important to you, as well as the other feminists and to-be-feminists in your life.

Reader’s advisory is personal, and I just don’t think a robot will ever be able to offer the same type of thoughtful, personalized recommendations that a real human reader can.
When I’m stumped for what to recommend for a particular reader, I have a cadre of fellow readers’ advisory professionals to consult, and often draw on the incredible wealth of knowledge that our own team at Book Riot has to give the best suggestions to readers. (Seriously, the Book Riot back channels are the best place to get reading advice). I’ll continue to use those resources to expand my own knowledge of books and to best match readers with stories they’ll love.

then again, maybe people don’t appreciate the thoughtful recommendations from a real human. maybe they don’t all need that kind of personal attention. maybe these bots are just fine.

Hi! Have you any reccies for adult-age books (I don't mean "18+, ahem", I just mean not-YA) books with strong heroines who *don't* fight - not warriors or soldiers, women who are strong in other ways? Preferably less romance and more story - magic/fantasy worlds/sci fi/RL history all great. Thanks!
The Queen of the Tearling series by Erika Johansen sounds like something you’d like. It’s an adult fantasy novel and the titular queen is all about politics, not fighting. She advocates nonviolence.
You might also like the The Others series by Anne Bishop—it starts with Written in Red. The heroine has visions of the future but isn’t a fighter.
Happy reading!

I'm looking for a fantasy book series or book featuring gay male main character that has a romantic relationship as well as a lot of action
Proxy by Alex London fits the bill.

Hi! I'm looking for a lead male love interest that's quiet and dorky. Preferably YA and best if there aren't any love triangles. Do you know any that might fit the criteria? Thx~~
Guy in Real Life by Steve Brezenoff is just the book for you. Gamer metalhead meets beautiful D&D girl.
With the embarrassment of riches coming out of young adult fiction over the last few years, it’s no surprise that even amazing books can sometimes slip through the cracks. Here are ten wonderful fantasy books you may not know about, but totally should.

When Mitch McConnell silenced Elizabeth Warren in the senate last week, he sparked an already blazing fire of rage and resentment against the new administration and the GOP senators ruthlessly backing the President. As I somewhat gleefully watched the outrage against McConnell spread, I couldn’t help thinking about all of the other women to whom we could attach that #shepersisted hashtag.
As a children’s librarian, I have the
good fortune of reading and reviewing many great books for young
readers about the accomplishments of women and girls. And, after reading
fellow Rioter Alice Burton’s piece
highlighting great books about women who persisted, I was inspired to
make a list especially geared at younger readers. Here are seven of my
favorite books for young readers about women who were warned, who were
given an explanation, but who, nevertheless persisted.
